Publication Ethics

Jurnal SAINTEKOM is committed to maintaining high ethical standards in publication and follows the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). These ethical standards apply to authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

1. Responsibilities of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and free from plagiarism.
  • Compliance with Scientific Standards: Articles must be written with a clear and accurate methodology and present data honestly without manipulation.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Authors must properly cite relevant references and acknowledge contributions from others.
  • Responsible Authorship: All individuals who made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors, while those who do not meet authorship criteria should not be included.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence the research findings or interpretations.
  • Multiple Submissions: Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

  • Publication Decisions: Editors are responsible for deciding which articles will be published based on editorial policies and peer review results.
  • Objectivity and Fairness: Editors must evaluate manuscripts based on their academic content without discrimination based on race, gender, institutional affiliation, or the author's background.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and not disclose any information to unauthorized parties.
  • Handling Plagiarism: If plagiarism is suspected, editors must take appropriate action, including contacting the author and relevant institutions.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Confidentiality: All reviewed manuscripts must be treated as confidential documents.
  • Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively, providing constructive criticism without personal bias against the author.
  • Fair Evaluation: Reviewers must provide an honest assessment of the methodology, significance of findings, and contribution of the research.
  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and decline to review manuscripts where such conflicts exist.

4. Responsibilities of the Publisher

  • The publisher ensures that all stages of the publication process adhere to ethical principles.
  • The publisher supports editorial independence and upholds the integrity of scientific publications.
  • If errors or ethical violations are found in a published article, the publisher will take appropriate actions, including retraction or correction.
